Mens health is an all too neglected focus in our daily lives. Most folk tend to look at the hundreds of – sometimes highly suspect – programs for building super ABS or losing ridiculous amounts of weight.
In my opinion weight control is all about controlling intake and a reasonable amount of regular exercise. In Ayurveda you will learn how just changing the types of food to suit your body type or Dosha can solve many problems, including weight.
As men we also need to pay attention to the more “subtle” aspects of men’s health which, if not looked after, can land us in serious health situations – despite the multitude of muscle builders, toners, developers and performance enhancers which are being mass advertised.
We need to pay attention to our sexual health, the prostate, the effects of stress (men and women) and cardiovascular health, for instance. We can go a long way to preventing some of these problems by eating healthily and regular moderate exercise.
It is my personal opinion that it is a personal choice if you want to jog regularly and enjoy running over long distances. For those of us who want to enjoy a slightly more “pedestrian” way of life; good diet, moderate exercise and ensuring quality time to yourself for a short while every day, I think can only do good.
We will be talking about both Ayurvedic and Western herbs which have a reputation for focusing on maintaining men’s health.
